Alfred Drayton Simons diary, 1864 May 1-1865 July 1.

Diary contains daily entries concerning the actions and movements of Simon's regiment (27th S.C. Infantry) in Virginia. Simons records in detail his routine daily duties and pickets, and notes the names of those wounded or killed. Diary entries conclude with a passage entitled "Reflections upon the preceding pages." Diary also contains a clipping (n.d.) concerning the Palmetto Flag and a poem entitled "The Veteran."
